Christo Kriek, portfolio manager of SASOL Synfuels Operations, spoke of Hytera TETRA network in Secunda of South Africa, during the Hytera 360° Worldwide Seminar in Dubai on 26th April 2016.
Hytera built a TETRA system with 17 sites and 4 swithching nodes for SASOL, an international chemicals and energy company which contributes 4% to GDP of South Africa. The Hytera mission-critical TETRA network for SASOL has been in operation since 2008.
“The system is one of the few TETRA network with heaviest traffic in the world. The network deals with around 50,000 calls on average per day. It only broke down once, and overseas technical support team from Hytera fixed it within 30 minutes.” said Kriek.
