Over the last few years, the situation of public safety in Pakistan becomes more and more challenging. Pakistan Police were under great pressure of anti-terrorist and maintain security order. However, the wireless communications equipment of police department are relatively backward. There were a number of black spots in their existing analogue communication network. The existing wireless radios cannot meet the requirement of Pakistan Police in their regular patrol as well as routine guard work.
As the close partner and dear brother of Pakistan, China donated 425pcs vehicles to Pakistan. As the industry leader of critical communications in China, Hytera was awarded by Chinese government to equip the wireless communication system in those vehicles.
A new system was required to assure the improvement of each state's police unified communication capacity. The police need the radios to provide clear, reliable communications service for all of the portal spots even in rural areas.
Together with the pickups free assisted to Pakistan, 425pcs Hytera mobile radios MD78XG were mounted on the pickups and distributed to four provinces — Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan — and Capital Territory of Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan, northwest tribal areas and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The equipments are mainly used by local polices and rangers for daily patrol.
As a mobile radio built to the DMR standard, MD78XG is endowed with ergonomic design, all round digital functions and remarkable quality to increase customer's management efficiency and enable them to be responsive to emergent situations.
Compared with other solutions, Hytera MD78XG features a more appropriate size for vehicle deployment and offers better sound quality. What’s more, it is much easier to learn and operate. Within a short time, Pakistan policemen and rangers were operating the equipment very successfully in the field.
GPS monitoring helps with police safety. Using GPS, they can know how effective patrols are and how busy police are. They can manage fatigue and work out how many shifts per week for staff.
